Following on from Mark’s discussion at the last meeting about depth of field and aperture I came across this article in Petapixel by Blake Evans discussing just that – but with the effect of crop factor (that relates to your sensor size) as well. Have a read and a view of the video – it is very informative.

While we are talking videos, Tony and Chelsea Northrup are a couple of professionals that make a lot of videos to help photographers. This is one of their latest that looks at 7 mistakes that photographers make. These aren’t technical issues – more the philosophy of photography. Do you make any of them? Have a look at their other videos – most are pretty good.

While we are on the subject of philosophy, there are some articles in Apogee Photo magazine that look at how to improve your photography by looking at photographer profiles. The first is The Hopeful Photographer – H.O.P.E. is an acronym for Having Optimism, Photographers ExcelThe Grateful Photographer that looks back and celebrates your achievement as a photographer – we all have little moments to cherish. What are yours? You might be surprised at how many you have. Or how Richard Avedon and Henri Cartier-Bresson used the golden ratio. There are lots more view in the series that examine these famous photographers.
That should keep you going for a bit.

Finally, a another in my travel photo finds – this time something as simple as the open road and the many photo opportunities they offer as seen by Nate Kay in The Photo Argus
