A Studio Photography Primer

Studio photography can be a bit daunting to those who are not used to it.  The amount of equipment that is out there multiplies ten fold when you start playing with studio equipment.  No longer is it a case of slipping a backpack over your shoulders!  Then there are additional camera settings to worry about.  Why won’t my camera fire those flashes?  Why is only half the frame exposed?

When I started looking into Studio Photography, I came across the following series of Youtube clips, produced by the Snap Factory in Arizona, that helped me get on the right track.  These vids explained quite a few basic principles.  Below, I will share a few of these with you.

The first episode deals with sync speed and a few other nifty tricks:

Below are links to some following episodes:

There are many many more episodes you could look at, with a lot of useful information.

If you get a chance, especially before our studio night, have a look through these videos.  Hopefully it will inspire you to try something new!

Cheers
