Ok – and now to my little extra reading material:
- First up – remember that Minimalist Competition we all stuffed up? Well here are some examples of better ones http://www.thephotoargus.com/40-minimal-photos-for-your-inspiration/
- If you want some alternative inspiration, have a look at the finalists for the Bowness Prize (http://www.mga.org.au/bowness-prize) – an annual Australian based photography prize to promote photographic excellence – and it’s not limited to professionals. The prize is pretty good too!
- Now, with summer almost upon us, and the sun cranking up the light, and judges saying the light hasn’t been kind to you (grrrrrr). Well here is an alternative discussion (https://fstoppers.com/education/why-are-you-afraid-sun-87671) that suggests lots of sun can be good! The article uses models, but the ideas apply to any subject matter
- And finally – to finish up with the effect of too much sun – freckles! Here is how to undo the side effects (http://petapixel.com/2015/09/28/this-is-what-infrared-photography-does-to-freckles/#) – use an Infrared filter (sorry Jack). It’s just a bit of fun, but isn’t that what our photography is supposed to be about?
